"Posing as organizers of farm employees and maids, as champions of women's rights, as helpers of individuals whose heat had been interrupt in winter, they talked their means onto faculty campuses, and got donations of cash and food from businesses and even doctors' and lawyers' teams.
The organization eventually took over Invest Yourself, a well known guide to volunteer agencies and comes that had been printed by a committee of mainstream church organizations. The guide, distributed widely on faculty campuses and in libraries, gave the cluster an aura of respectability and a valuable recruiting tool."
"Perhaps the group's greatest coup was taking on Invest Yourself, a guide to volunteer teams printed annually since 1946 by church teams operating from the building at 475 Riverside Drive and 119th Street in Manhattan, that homes the National Council of Churches. The cluster slipped in additional than thirty of its own teams among the listings. Its current editor is listed as Susan Angus, one in all those arrested last Monday, and it's still in circulation."
